Zoonique day out!

This half term, come and discover what makes DZC a ‘Zoonique’ day out, as we celebrate Love Your Zoo Week!

We’re joining the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA) annual campaign throughout the school holidays (May 27 – June 4), which aims to highlight the fantastic conservation, education and research zoos carry out.

DZC Marketing Manager, Andrea Hales, said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming half term visitors and getting the chance to showcase how not only are BIAZA zoos vital with regards to the work they carry out, but also how they’re a great day out too!

“Here at DZC, we’re a totally unique attraction, with more than 1,600 animals living around the ruins of an 11th century Dudley Castle, who share the site with the world’s largest single collection of Modernist Tecton structures and not forgetting the country’s only vintage chairlift, we’ve got lots to make us stand out!”

And we’ve got some really wild fun planned throughout the week, including the chance to win an animal adoption, by following a trail around the 40-acre site to meet some of our most well-known animals and learn more about the variety of in-situ animal projects we support around the globe.

Visitors can also discover the importance of zoos and conservation through a packed programme of animal talks each day, as well as joining in with activities in the Discovery Centre which will focus on DZC’s past, present and future.

Make sure to pick up a ‘What’s On’ guide at the entrance for times and locations, or check our website for more details.
